ReOC Application Checklist

Document Preparation

Preparing the correct documents before submitting your application can help avoid unnecessary delays in the ReOC assessment process.

This ReOC application checklist explains the documents required for:

  • an individual or sole trader application; and
  • a company or organisation application.

The requirements differ slightly depending on the legal entity applying for the ReOC. Select the section that applies to your business structure and make sure each document is complete before submission.

Individual or sole trader ReOC application checklist

An individual or sole trader application must include the following documents.

Completed application forms

Provide:

  • CASA Form 101-06, completed and signed by the applicant; and
  • the completed Additional Information Form – Individual/Sole Trader.

Chief Remote Pilot licence information

Provide a copy of the proposed Chief Remote Pilot’s Remote Pilot Licence showing:

  • full name;
  • Aviation Reference Number;
  • date of birth; and
  • all ratings held on the licence.

You may provide one or more screenshots from the CASA portal or digital licence instead of a complete copy of the RePL, provided that every required detail is visible.

The QR code from the CASA digital licence is not sufficient by itself.

CEO identification

Where the proposed CEO is someone other than the Chief Remote Pilot, provide either:

  • a document issued by CASA showing the CEO’s name and ARN; or
  • a screenshot from the CASA portal showing the CEO’s name and ARN.

Maintenance Controller identification

Where the proposed Maintenance Controller is someone other than the CEO or Chief Remote Pilot, provide either:

  • a document issued by CASA showing the Maintenance Controller’s name and ARN; or
  • a screenshot from the CASA portal showing the Maintenance Controller’s name and ARN.

The individual and sole trader requirements are summarised on page 1 of the downloadable checklist.

Company or organisation ReOC application checklist

A company or organisation application must include the following documents.

Completed application forms

Chief Remote Pilot licence information

Provide a copy of the proposed Chief Remote Pilot’s Remote Pilot Licence showing:

  • full name;
  • Aviation Reference Number;
  • date of birth; and
  • all ratings held on the licence.

Screenshots from the CASA portal or digital licence may be used, provided they collectively show all required information.

The QR code from the CASA digital licence is not sufficient by itself.

Company or organisation ARN

Provide evidence showing the company or organisation’s:

  • legal name; and
  • Aviation Reference Number.

This may be:

  • a document issued by CASA; or
  • a screenshot from the CASA portal showing the company or organisation name and ARN.

The company and organisation requirements are summarised on page 2 of the downloadable checklist.

Common ReOC application mistakes

Before submitting your documents, check that:

  • Form 101-06 has been signed by the correct person, it MUST be signed by the nominated CEO;
  • you have used the Additional Information Form for the correct applicant type;
  • the Chief Remote Pilot’s name, ARN, date of birth and ratings are all visible;
  • you have supplied all of the required details for the Chief Remote Pilot’s RePL and not just the QR code from the CASA digital licence;
  • the company name and organisation ARN are included for a company application; and
  • ARN evidence has been provided for any separately appointed CEO or Maintenance Controller.

Incomplete or unclear documentation may need to be corrected before the application can progress.

Frequently asked questions

Is the ReOC application checklist different for a sole trader and a company?

Yes. An individual or sole trader applies in their own name. A company or organisation must also provide evidence of the entity’s name and organisation ARN.

Who signs Form 101-06?

For an individual or sole trader application, the applicant signs the form. For a company or organisation application, it must be signed by the CEO or a company director.

Can I submit screenshots of a digital RePL?

Yes. One or more screenshots may be submitted, provided they show the Chief Remote Pilot’s name, ARN, date of birth and licence ratings.

Is the QR code on a CASA digital licence enough?

No. The QR code does not, by itself, satisfy the checklist requirements.

Does every nominated person need to provide ARN evidence?

Additional ARN evidence is required where the CEO is not the Chief Remote Pilot, or where the Maintenance Controller is not the CEO or Chief Remote Pilot.
